The Reiki for Animal Lovers Workshop
The Reiki for Animal Lovers workshop prepares you give Reiki to your animal companions. You will also learn to give a Reiki treatment to yourself. At the end of this workshop, you will be attuned to the Reiki energy. When you touch with the intent of healing, Reiki will flow from the Reiki source to you and through you to animals. You will also be able to use Reiki for your own healing.
Prerequisite: A love of animals and a strong desire to learn Reiki
This introductory workshop includes the Reiki I attunement and covers the following topics:
- Introduction to Reiki
- Giving yourself a complete Reiki treatment
- Guidelines for healing animals with Reiki (practice working with animals is not included)
Animal Reiki is done hands off - not hands on. You offer Reiki to the animal the he or she decides if they wish to receive Reiki at this time and how they with to receive it. Some animals like hands on, and if this is the case the animal will let you know. The animals are your teachers - this workshop will just get you started. Reiki is very simple, but it takes time and practice to develop your confidence and ability to use Reiki.
My cats usually come into the room during the workshop. We can offer Reiki to them. They love hands on Reiki, so if one of them gets on your lap, you can take this as a request for hands on and give it a try. But you need to practice more at home with your animals or other animals in your life to further develop your Reiki skills. The animals are your teachers and will let you know how they wish to receive Reiki.
The more you use Reiki, the stronger it gets, so you will want to use it a lot. You will also be able to offer Reiki to people, but you will not be trained to do that in this class. One good thing about Reiki is that it can do no harm, so you can experiment and see how it goes.
Tuition: $75 Tuition includes the book Animal Reiki by Elizabeth Fulton and Kathleen Prasad, additional notes and handouts as needed and a certificate of completion for the class. Pre-registration is required.
Discounts are available for current volunteers and employees of animal shelters and other organizations that work with homeless animals. The purpose in offering this discount is to get Reiki to these animals who need it so badly. If you would like to apply for a discount, contact Margaret and let her know where you work or volunteer and what your role is with the animals. She will let you know if you qualify for this discount.
